A major investment commitment made during the World Economic Forum at Davos has taken a significant step towards implementation, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressing its readiness to establish a Food Cluster in Andhra Pradesh. A delegation led by UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat to discuss the proposed project. The initiative follows the invitation extended by the Chief Minister during his Davos visit earlier this year.
During the meeting, both sides discussed creating a comprehensive food processing value chain in Andhra Pradesh through a strategic partnership between the state government and the UAE. The project aims to strengthen processing and exports of horticultural products such as mangoes, bananas, cocoa, and other agricultural produce to international markets. State Minister TG Bharat, along with senior officials from the Food Processing Department, Industries Department, and the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (EDB), also attended the meeting.
