Typhoon Dolphin Batters China

Typhoon Dolphin has caused severe weather conditions across eastern China, with torrential rain and powerful winds triggering flooding and raising concerns over landslides. More than one million people have been evacuated from vulnerable areas, particularly in Zhejiang and Shanghai, as authorities stepped up emergency measures. The storm made landfall in Zhejiang with winds of around 151 kmph before weakening into a tropical storm.

Shanghai has witnessed exceptionally heavy rainfall, with some areas receiving around 313 mm in 24 hours. The extreme weather has disrupted daily life and transportation, with more than 1,300 flights cancelled at the city's airports and several public transport services affected. Roads have been inundated in several areas, while authorities have warned residents to remain cautious as heavy rain continues across eastern and central China.
