Typhoon Bavi has unleashed heavy rain and widespread flooding across parts of China, severely affecting normal life. In Liaoning Province, relentless rainfall has inundated roads, prompting authorities to evacuate around 260,000 residents to safer locations as a precautionary measure. Videos showing vehicles being swept away by floodwaters have gone viral on social media.
China's National Meteorological Centre has warned that heavy rainfall is expected to continue on Tuesday, prompting authorities to declare holidays for educational institutions in several affected areas. The typhoon, which formed over the Pacific Ocean 13 days ago, is reported to cover an area comparable to the size of France. Its impact is also being felt in Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, and North Korea.
