Twin Earthquakes Rock Peru

Two earthquakes measuring 5.1 and 3.7 magnitude struck Peru's central Junín region on Saturday night, causing widespread damage. According to initial reports, at least six people were killed and 21 others were injured in the disaster.

The earthquakes struck east of the capital, Lima, destroying around 48 houses and leaving nearly 300 people homeless. Rescue teams have intensified search operations to locate people who may still be trapped under the debris, while relief efforts are underway in the affected areas.
