Amid the ongoing military tensions between the US and Iran, US President Donald Trump made sensational remarks about oil prices. He said global oil prices would fall sharply once the US achieves victory over Iran. In a post on Truth Social, Trump predicted that gasoline prices in the US could first fall to $3 per gallon and then drop below $2. He also reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf strongly responded to the US warnings. He cautioned that any US attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure would have serious consequences. Ghalibaf said Iran’s oil and gas facilities, as well as US energy companies operating around the Persian Gulf, could face risks. He warned that any attack on Iranian assets would invite retaliatory strikes against US interests.
