US President Donald Trump posted 34 times on his Truth Social account within an hour, drawing considerable attention with a series of AI-generated images and striking comments. Several of the posts focused on Iran, including its strategically important Kharg Island, a major hub for the country's oil exports. Trump shared an image of the island with the words “Bye Bye Kharg” and also posted an AI-generated visual showing his face superimposed on a map of Iran.
Trump also made a post suggesting that the Moon belongs to the United States and shared an AI-generated image depicting a sign for the US state of New Mexico as “New America.” However, there has been no official order from Trump to change the name of New Mexico. The posts have nevertheless triggered widespread discussion online, particularly amid heightened tensions involving Iran. Trump had previously issued an executive order directing that the Gulf of Mexico be referred to as the “Gulf of America” in US federal usage.
