US President Donald Trump held a high level meeting with leading technology and AI executives at the White House to discuss the future and safety of advanced artificial intelligence, which Trump has referred to as “super intelligence”. The meeting was attended by prominent figures including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and OpenAI President Greg Brockman.
The discussions focused on AI safety, internal controls and responsible development of increasingly powerful AI systems. Following the meeting, Trump announced a voluntary accord under which participating companies agreed to strengthen internal safeguards, work with independent auditors and establish oversight mechanisms. Trump described the agreement as “morally binding”, while the accord itself remains voluntary rather than legally binding.
