Trump Makes Key Remarks on Taiwan–China Tensions

US President Donald Trump made key remarks on the Taiwan issue, calling it a highly complex challenge for the United States. He noted that Taiwan is only about 95 km from China, while it is over 15,000 km away from the US, making rapid response difficult due to geographical distance.

Trump said China is a powerful nation and urged both China and Taiwan to exercise restraint amid rising tensions. He added that the US does not intend to go that far to fight a war over Taiwan’s independence.
