Trump Announces Fresh Tariffs on 60 Countries

US President Donald Trump has announced a fresh round of tariffs on imports from nearly 60 countries, including India, as part of his administration's trade policy. The new duties, ranging from 10% to 12.5%, have been introduced under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, targeting countries over trade practices and market access concerns.

India, however, has received partial relief after taking steps to strengthen the enforcement of laws aimed at preventing forced labour. As a result, the tariff applicable to Indian goods has reportedly been reduced to 10%, offering some respite to exporters. The revised tariff structure is expected to influence global trade flows and remains under close watch by businesses and policymakers.
