A newly released book about French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron has sparked international attention with controversial claims about their personal life. Journalist Florian Tardif, in his book ‘An (Almost) Perfect Couple,’ alleged that Brigitte once slapped Macron during a foreign tour after reportedly seeing chats between him and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani on his phone. Portions of the book have also been published by French media outlets.
The book further references the viral Vietnam tour video from last year, where Brigitte appeared to push Macron moments before they stepped out of the aircraft in Hanoi. At that time, Macron dismissed the incident as insignificant. However, both Brigitte’s representatives and actress Golshifteh Farahani have denied all allegations mentioned in the book. The controversy also drew reactions earlier from former US President Donald Trump, who commented on the widely discussed Vietnam incident.
