Traffic woes have resurfaced in Uppal after several years, causing inconvenience to commuters. Authorities have diverted vehicles away from Uppal Ring Road along the Warangal National Highway to facilitate the construction of pillars for the Rajireddy Elevated Corridor near the cremation grounds. The already narrow stretch has been partially closed to accommodate the work. However, the absence of proper signboards has led to confusion among motorists. Many drivers coming from the Warangal Highway reached Uppal Ring Road without clear directions and were forced to stop midway, unsure of alternate routes. As per the diversion plan, vehicles should take a turn near Asian Mall after crossing Nallacheruvu and pass through the HMDA layout in Bhagayat.
Vehicles coming from the city are advised to use alternative routes via Pista House and LFS backside, passing through Beerappagadda to reach the Warangal Highway near the substation. Officials stated that these diversions will remain in place for nearly three months due to ongoing construction work. Although the diversion was initially planned from the 26th of last month, it has now been implemented during the monsoon season, further adding to commuter difficulties. Without adequate signage and planning, motorists are expected to face prolonged inconvenience in the coming months.
