A major tragedy unfolded in Vietnam after a tourist boat capsized in Ha Long Bay at around 10:30 a.m., reportedly due to rough sea conditions and high waves. The accident claimed the lives of more than 15 people, while several others were reported missing. Among the victims were tourists from the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Preliminary reports identified Sridhar from Kadapa and Jayashree from Machilipatnam among those who lost their lives, while four more tourists from Andhra Pradesh remain unaccounted for.
According to initial information, the group was part of a corporate tour organised by a mobile phone distribution company that had taken around 250 distributors to Vietnam. The delegation reportedly included about 35 participants from Andhra Pradesh and 40 from Telangana. Rescue and search operations are underway, and authorities are working to trace the missing passengers while extending assistance to the affected families.
