A theft of a Hanuman idol in Tirumala has sparked concern among devotees and temple authorities. The incident occurred near the seventh mile on the Alipiri footpath, where unidentified persons allegedly stole a small Hanuman idol installed beneath a larger statue during the midnight hours. The idol had been receiving daily rituals, making the incident particularly sensitive.
The theft was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, providing investigators with crucial leads. TTD Vigilance personnel and the police rushed to the spot and launched an intensive investigation. Officials are examining the CCTV footage to identify the accused, while the incident has raised fresh concerns about security arrangements in the sacred temple town.
