Fear has spread across Polavaram district after a tiger reportedly killed 14 calves near the submerged village of Old Gangampalem in Devipatnam mandal. Forest officials believe it is the same tiger that killed seven cattle in Rajavommangi mandal last week and later moved through forest areas near Gangavaram before entering Devipatnam.
The repeated attacks have left villagers worried about the safety of both livestock and people. Farmers are hesitant to let their animals graze, while residents fear venturing out at night. Although forest officials say special teams are monitoring the tiger and have deployed camera traps and cages to capture it, locals allege that effective action has been delayed. Residents are urging authorities to ensure public safety and capture the animal at the earliest.
