An alert has been issued for Andhra Pradesh as thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur in several districts. APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain said a trough extending from a low pressure area over the southwest and west central Bay of Bengal is influencing weather conditions. The system extends from north Tamil Nadu through Rayalaseema and Karnataka up to Maharashtra.
Due to this, light rains with lightning are likely in parts of Alluri, Polavaram, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, and Kadapa districts on Friday. Authorities advised farmers and livestock herders to avoid standing under trees during thunderstorms and move to safe shelters immediately.
Officials also warned that maximum temperatures may rise between 43°C and 44°C across the state. Severe heat conditions are expected in parts of Alluri, Polavaram, Konaseema, and NTR districts.
