Three Indians Missing After Attempting Illegal Route to US

Three Indian nationals from Gujarat’s Mehsana district have reportedly gone missing after allegedly travelling through an illegal migration network in an attempt to reach the United States. The missing individuals have been identified as Mamta Chadva, Ruthvik Jansari and Mayuri Solanki. Their families claim that they received a ransom call from Ethiopia, with the caller allegedly demanding ₹1 crore for their release. According to reports, the trio had reportedly made a deal with agents Alpesh Panchal and Bhargav Patel, agreeing to pay ₹75 lakh each for being taken abroad through illegal routes.

The three travelled to Rajasthan on September 20 and subsequently flew to Abu Dhabi on an Etihad Airways flight before reaching Ethiopia. They were reportedly staying there on a one-month visa. On September 22, Mamta contacted her family and claimed that they had reached Canada. Their phones were later switched off. Three days later, the families allegedly received a call from an unidentified person claiming that the three had been kidnapped and demanding ₹1 crore for their release. Reports said the families had already paid substantial amounts to agents and were facing financial difficulties. Mamta’s father has appealed to the government to intervene and rescue them. Alpesh Panchal reportedly claimed that ₹60 lakh had already been paid to the alleged kidnappers, who were demanding an additional ₹1 crore. Police are investigating the matter.
