A total of 14,814 government teachers in Telangana failed the recently conducted Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Out of 23,623 teachers who appeared for the exam last month, only 8,809 candidates qualified, recording a pass percentage of 37.29%.
The pass percentage has dropped significantly compared to last year, when nearly 50% of government teachers cleared the examination. As per the Supreme Court's directions, government teachers must qualify the TET by August 2028, failing which they could face the risk of losing their jobs.
