The Bitter Truth Faced by Hyderabad Among Metro Cities

Hyderabad has ranked last among major metro cities in India in food hygiene ratings, according to data released by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Out of nearly 25,000 licensed hotels in the city, only 361 establishments, about 2%, have received hygiene ratings.

In comparison, cities like Delhi and Bengaluru have significantly higher numbers, with 3,394 and 2,200 rated establishments respectively. Officials stated that inspections revealed issues such as unlicensed operations and the use of expired ingredients, posing a serious public health concern.
