The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has temporarily suspended the operations of all JBM electric buses across the state following a series of high-voltage battery-related incidents. The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety after another incident occurred before the investigation into the June 21 bus fire near Alugunur in Karimnagar was completed.
TGSRTC has asked JBM to submit detailed reports on the causes of the incidents, permanent corrective measures, battery fitness certification, and the establishment of a command and control centre at Hyderabad Bus Bhavan. The corporation said services will resume only after all safety conditions are met and the technical team certifies each vehicle as "Fit for Operation." TGSRTC reiterated that passenger safety remains its highest priority and that no compromise will be made on safety standards.
