Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the TG20 League has emerged as an excellent platform for identifying and nurturing talented cricketers from rural areas. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony for the inaugural TG20 champions, he said the support of the Eenadu Group had given the league recognition comparable to the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Chief Minister also announced that the state government is holding discussions with the BCCI and the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) to construct a world-class international cricket stadium with a seating capacity of one lakh in Future City. During the event, he presented the ₹1 crore cash reward announced by Eenadu to the Hyderabad champions.
Revanth Reddy reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure and rewarding excellence. He said medal-winning athletes would receive cash incentives and direct government jobs without unnecessary delays. Citing examples, he highlighted employment provided to cricketer Mohammed Siraj and boxer Nikhat Zareen, along with financial rewards for shooter Esha Singh. He also announced plans for a Sports University, the modernization of the Gachibowli Stadium, and an Olympic-standard academy and training centre within the next two years. The Chief Minister advised young cricketers to remain disciplined, stay focused and take inspiration from legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
