TG20 Launched as Telangana’s First Franchise Cricket League

The Telangana Cricket Association has officially unveiled the founding franchise owners of TG20, the state’s first-ever franchise-based T20 cricket league, at the grand “TG20 Origins” event held in Hyderabad. The announcement took place at ITC Kakatiya in the presence of industrialists, corporate leaders, HCA officials, and cricket administrators. The league will feature eight teams representing different regions of Telangana and aims to build a strong cricketing ecosystem by creating structured opportunities for emerging players and strengthening grassroots development.

TG20 is also set to establish strong commercial and broadcast partnerships, with discussions underway with JioStar for live telecast on Star Sports Telugu and streaming on JioHotstar. Marriott Hotels will serve as the official hospitality partner, while TCM Sports Management Pvt Ltd has been appointed as the event management agency. Former Tamil Nadu Premier League CEO Prasanna Kannan will lead league operations. Officials stated that TG20 will not only develop future cricketing talent but also create a strong sporting identity and economic opportunities for Telangana.
