Tensions in Eravelli...BRS MLAs Arrested

Police arrested several BRS MLAs after tensions escalated over the row surrounding remarks made by BRS MLC Thatha Madhu against the Assembly Speaker. The BRS legislators, including K. T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao, reportedly travelled from the Assembly towards Eravelli in Siddipet district after the Congress called for a protest at former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s farmhouse with 1,000 drums. Police deployed heavy security near the farmhouse and stepped up surveillance to prevent any untoward incidents.

The BRS had also planned a farmers’ protest at the Markook mandal headquarters, prompting police to set up checkpoints and take several leaders and activists into preventive custody. When BRS MLAs attempted to proceed towards Eravelli on foot from Hakimpet, police stopped them following a heated argument and arrested them. KTR was taken to Bowenpally Police Station and Harish Rao was shifted to Jawaharnagar Police Station. The developments have led to heightened political tension in Markook mandal, with police closely monitoring movements of both BRS and Congress workers.
