The mortal remains of Kapu movement leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham were shifted from Sindhu Hospital in Hyderabad to his native village, Kirlampudi, in East Godavari district by ambulance. Family members, supporters, and admirers gathered in large numbers to pay their final respects. His last rites are scheduled to be conducted in Kirlampudi on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, tension prevailed near Mudragada's residence after his daughter, Kranti, arrived to pay her last respects. Police initially stopped her near Prathipadu, citing objections from family members. However, following her request, she was later allowed to offer floral tributes with instructions to leave immediately afterward. The father and daughter had developed political differences during the previous Assembly elections, and Mudragada had reportedly expressed that Kranti should not attend his funeral.
