Telangana has secured the top position among southern states in child birth registrations, with figures reported to be more than double the national average. Data from the past decade indicates that nearly 1.60 lakh births were registered across the state, reflecting a steady rise in birth registrations and improved reporting mechanisms.
The report also highlights that over three-fourths of the registered births occurred in urban areas, indicating rapid urban population growth. However, the child sex ratio continues to be a concern, with only 910 girl children recorded for every 1,000 boys, underlining the need for sustained awareness and gender equality initiatives.
