Telangana to Become a Golf Tourism Hub - Minister Jupally Krishna Rao

Telangana is taking steps to develop the state into a world-class golf tourism destination, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said. He announced plans to establish an international-standard golf course across 130 acres at Jawaharnagar near Shamirpet. Another world-class golf course is also planned at Somasila on the banks of the Krishna River, with the aim of creating a dedicated golf tourism destination.

Speaking at a press conference held at Hyderabad Golf Club during the Telangana Golconda Masters, the minister said the government would adopt the public-private partnership model to develop golf tourism infrastructure. He said Telangana’s forts, palaces, forests, lakes and rivers would be promoted alongside golf tourism. The government is also considering using former India captain Kapil Dev’s experience and international recognition to promote tourism and sports in the state.
