Telangana’s power sector has achieved another historic milestone by successfully meeting a peak power demand of 19,892 MW on September 30, 2026. On the same day, TGSPDCL recorded a peak demand of 12,299 MW within its jurisdiction and supplied 223.34 million units of electricity, marking a new distribution record. The state’s power utilities continue to strengthen their systems to ensure reliable and quality power supply amid rising demand.
TGSPDCL CMD Jitesh V. Patil, IAS, said that ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply to consumers remains the organisation’s primary objective despite the steady rise in electricity demand. He said the new records were made possible by the guidance of the state government and the collective efforts of engineers, officials and field-level staff. Infrastructure strengthening, enhancement of substation capacity and network development works are being accelerated to effectively meet higher power demand in the future.
