The Telangana State Election Commission has released the draft electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Officials said the first phase of the exercise has been completed, with 78.30% of enumeration forms received across the state. Sudarshan Reddy said 2.73% of voters were identified as deceased, while around 60 lakh voters were classified as anomalies. Officials also found that nearly 32 lakh voters had not been mapped.
Against this backdrop, notices are expected to be issued to around 92 lakh voters. Sudarshan Reddy advised those receiving notices to submit the required documents and verify their details at the earliest. Voters with objections to deletion can also submit their claims. Objections and relevant applications will be examined from August 17 to October 15, after which the final electoral roll will be released on October 19. More than 2,000 officials are expected to participate in completing the SIR process across Telangana.
