Telangana Police's Key Decision

The Telangana Police has taken a significant decision to rationalise security arrangements across the state. The department has withdrawn 26 bulletproof vehicles that had been allotted to serving and retired senior police officers. Bulletproof vehicles assigned to Hyderabad Police Commissioners have also been withdrawn.

In addition, the police department has reviewed the security cover provided to several political leaders and police officials. The number of gunmen deployed for 67 protected individuals has been reduced, with security for most of them limited to a one-plus-one deployment as part of a resource optimisation exercise.
