Telangana Plans HYDRAA-Like Enforcement Wing to Curb Revenue Leakages

The Telangana government is considering the establishment of a HYDRAA-like enforcement agency to prevent revenue leakages and strengthen monitoring across key revenue-generating departments. According to official sources, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was informed that illegal activities and irregularities in several sectors were adversely affecting the state's revenue growth. Officials reportedly recommended the creation of a dedicated enforcement wing with powers to identify and act against those responsible for causing financial losses to the government.

The proposed enforcement division is expected to oversee departments including Commercial Taxes, Mines, Civil Supplies, Excise, and Stamps & Registration, ensuring coordinated vigilance and stricter enforcement against corruption and revenue evasion. The government believes that bringing these departments under a unified monitoring mechanism will improve transparency, plug revenue leakages, and enhance the state's financial resources.
