The Telangana government has introduced a common travel pass connecting Hyderabad Metro and TGSRTC city bus services, along with the ‘MeeTicket’ mobile app and a digital weekly bus pass. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka formally launched the services at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad on Friday. The common pass is designed to make it easier for commuters to combine Metro and bus journeys, particularly for first- and last-mile connectivity.
The daily common pass is priced at ₹400, comprising ₹300 for Metro travel and ₹100 for TGSRTC services, while the monthly pass costs ₹8,500, including ₹7,000 for Metro and ₹1,500 for RTC. A refundable ₹100 security deposit is collected when the card is issued for the first time. The pass can be used on eligible TGSRTC city bus services within the ORR, excluding Pushpak services, as well as Hyderabad Metro.
The newly launched ‘MeeTicket’ app enables passengers to purchase bus tickets and digital passes through their smartphones. Users can select their boarding point, destination and ticket type, make digital payments and receive a dynamic QR-based ticket. A digital weekly bus pass priced at ₹600 is also available through the app, along with daily and monthly bus passes.
As part of the launch, Bhatti Vikramarka purchased daily common passes for ministers. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the Deputy Chief Minister and other ministers would travel using the common pass, starting with a Metro journey from Begumpet and subsequently taking an RTC bus. The government has said the integrated system is aimed at improving public transport connectivity and encouraging greater use of shared transportation.
