Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said Telangana and Tamil Nadu should not view each other as competitors in the industrial sector. Instead, cooperation between the two states could strengthen South India’s economic growth. Speaking at the ‘Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026’ roadshow held in Chennai on Thursday with the support of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), he invited Tamil Nadu’s industrialists to invest in Telangana. He praised Tamil Nadu’s progress in engineering education, automobile manufacturing, electronics and electric vehicle production, saying Telangana could learn valuable lessons from its achievements.
Sridhar Babu highlighted investment opportunities for Tamil Nadu businesses in Telangana. He suggested that pump manufacturers in Coimbatore could establish additional units in Telangana to access northern and central Indian markets. Tiruppur’s knitwear industry could collaborate with Warangal’s cotton-based textile sector, while Chennai’s auto component manufacturers could explore investments in electric vehicle electronics with support from Hyderabad’s engineering talent. He also highlighted the TG-iPASS system, which provides time-bound clearances for investors, and invited industrialists to the global summit scheduled for December 7, 8 and 9 at Bharat Future City. He later held discussions with diplomatic and business representatives from Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Russia, Thailand and Malaysia.
