Film producer Bandla Ganesh has suffered a setback after the Telangana High Court set aside an order passed by the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT) in his favour. The dispute arose after Union Bank of India auctioned a property owned by Bandla Ganesh in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, for ₹8.50 crore, alleging that loans obtained in the name of Sri Parameswara Poultry Farm Private Limited had remained unpaid. The DRT had earlier ruled in favour of Bandla Ganesh and challenged the bank's decision to conduct the auction.
Challenging the DRT's verdict, Union Bank of India approached the Telangana High Court. After hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court overturned the Tribunal's order and upheld the bank's decision to auction the property. The court ruled that the auction process carried out by Union Bank was legally valid, providing relief to the bank in the long-running dispute.
