The High Court for the State of Telangana has directed the authorities to maintain status quo regarding the disputed building belonging to the Owaisi Educational Institutions. The institution's management approached the High Court, alleging that the state government was attempting to demolish the building, which is currently at the centre of a legal dispute. The petition sought protection from any coercive action until the matter is adjudicated.
During the hearing, the government's counsel argued that the building falls within the Full Tank Level (FTL) limits of the Salkam Lake and that the issue is already under consideration before another Bench, making the present petition not maintainable. However, the petitioners informed the court that they had applied for regularisation of the structure under the Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS). Taking note of the submission, the High Court ordered maintenance of the status quo and adjourned the matter to August 3 for further hearing.
