Amid the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla urged people to support fuel conservation and help protect foreign exchange reserves. Referring to the appeal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor said every citizen should act responsibly in the national interest. He stated that he had already reduced the number of vehicles in his convoy and decided to cut vehicle usage by nearly 50 percent.
The Governor also appealed to government departments and political leaders to avoid unnecessary use of large convoys. In addition, he stressed the need to strengthen the “Drug Free Telangana” campaign and suggested introducing anti drug pledges in school and college admission forms. He said the media can play a major role in spreading awareness and making the movement successful across the state.
