Telangana Government to Utilize Army Services for SLBC and Kaleshwaram Works

The Telangana government has decided to utilise the services of Indian Army engineers for the SLBC tunnel works and the rehabilitation of the Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrages under the Kaleshwaram project. Army Headquarters has communicated the names of three engineering officers for deputation to the state government — Lt Col Satyadev Singh, Lt Col Ranjit A. Menon and Lt Col H. V. Bhalla.

Under the proposed deployment, one of the three officers will supervise operations at the two excavation fronts of the SLBC tunnel, while the other two will be assigned to the repair and rehabilitation of the Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrages. The government expects their technical expertise to strengthen quality control, field-level coordination and safety standards in these technically challenging irrigation projects.
