The Telangana government has announced relief for Haj pilgrims by deciding to bear the additional financial burden caused by rising travel costs. With geopolitical tensions in West Asia leading to an increase in fuel prices, the cost of the Haj pilgrimage has gone up significantly this year, impacting thousands of applicants from the state.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that the government will extend support to ensure that pilgrims, especially those from economically weaker sections, are not affected. Around 7,000 pilgrims from Telangana have registered for Haj this year, and the decision aims to ease their financial strain and enable them to undertake the sacred journey without hardship.
