Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has announced further progress in implementing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s assurances on resolving land-related issues under Section 22-A. The government has issued seven key orders so far to address these issues. According to the minister, district collectors have been instructed through Memo No. 48030 to clear pending applications under GO 59 involving properties measuring less than 500 square yards within a month. He emphasized that all decisions must follow the prescribed rules and that irregularities in the implementation of GO 59 would not be tolerated.
The minister said the government was taking steps to prevent the recurrence of irregularities reported during the earlier implementation of GO 59. Cases in which conveyance deeds have already been issued will also undergo a comprehensive review. A high-level committee was formed within 24 hours of the Chief Minister’s assurance, and the government is fast-tracking 10–12 categories of issues related to Section 22-A. Memos have been issued in accordance with GO 118 and GO 76 to facilitate the registration of houses, plots and flats that have approvals from GHMC, HMDA, DTCP or municipal authorities, even if they fall under the 22-A list. The government is also working to resolve long-pending Urban Land Ceiling applications and registration issues involving patta lands where the NALA conversion process remains incomplete.
