Telangana Government Faces Another Setback in High Court

The Telangana government has faced another setback in the High Court over the Musi Riverfront Project. Several affected landowners approached the court challenging the government’s move to acquire their lands in the Himayat Sagar area for the project. Advocates K. Vivek Reddy and K. Prateek Reddy, appearing for the petitioners, questioned how land acquisition could be undertaken without a Detailed Project Report (DPR).

After hearing the arguments, the High Court directed the government to file its counter immediately. It also ordered that the petitioners’ lands should not be taken into possession until further orders. The directions have put restrictions on the proposed acquisition of lands in the Himayat Sagar area as part of the Musi Riverfront Project.
