Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has announced a Dasara bonus for Singareni workers, stating that 34% of the company’s net profit from the previous financial year will be distributed among employees. Of the reported net profit of ₹1,754 crore, ₹596 crore has been earmarked for the bonus. Addressing the media at Praja Bhavan on Tuesday alongside Minister Sridhar Babu and legislators from the Singareni region, Bhatti said 38,737 permanent employees would receive an average bonus of ₹1,53,912 each, while 29,717 contract workers would receive ₹5,500 each.
As part of the workers’ welfare measures, Bhatti said around 300 pending dependent appointment orders would be issued to eligible applicants within 15 days. The government would also address pending issues related to changes in workers’ names and provide performance-related pay (PRP) to officials. He said authorities had been asked to identify Singareni-owned land where mining had not been undertaken and examine the proposal for a Nehru Housing Colony. Meanwhile, Minister Sridhar Babu criticised the previous BRS government over its handling of Singareni-related issues. He added that plans were being prepared to modernise government schools and colleges in Singareni areas and nearby regions.
