Telangana Excise Department Plans Proposal for Weapons

Telangana Prohibition and Excise Commissioner C. Hari Kiran reviewed the preparedness of excise officials to submit comprehensive proposals to the government regarding weapons for the department. During the review with officials under the commissionerate, he sought their views on which level of officers should be provided weapons if the government approves the proposal. He also directed officials to coordinate closely with the police department if weapons are sanctioned.

Hari Kiran instructed officials to intensify surveillance and take strict measures against offences involving NDPS-related drugs and non-duty-paid liquor. He also directed officials to speed up the collection of excise rental fees from bars and liquor shops. Officials were asked to ensure necessary facilities for applicants seeking new bar licences and provide them with proper guidance. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Sayed Yasin Qureshi, Joint Commissioner (Enforcement) G. Anjan Rao, Hyderabad and Cyberabad Deputy Commissioners A. Srinivasa Reddy and J. Harikishan, TG BCL Deputy Commissioner P. Dasarath and other senior excise officials.
