Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed the implementation of reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business, simplifying regulations and reducing unnecessary compliance burdens on businesses. The review meeting was held at the state Secretariat in Hyderabad on Friday, in the presence of Union government secretary Sukriti Likhi. Jaju informed central government officials that Telangana had achieved 100 per cent implementation of the reforms identified across all 23 priority areas in the first phase. He added that the state’s recently enacted Jan Vishwas Bill had completed the remaining reform in that phase. The government is continuing efforts to simplify procedures, reduce regulatory requirements and create a more business-friendly environment for industries and commercial establishments.
The Chief Secretary said the second phase covers 28 priority areas, comprising 23 mandatory reforms and five optional reforms. Reforms have so far been implemented in 12 of these areas, and the state aims to complete all applicable reforms by November 15, 2026. He noted that Telangana is among India’s highly urbanised states and is working to strengthen its business environment through policy changes and streamlined procedures. Sukriti Likhi appreciated the state’s progress and explained that the Union government was undertaking initiatives nationwide to rationalise regulations and reduce compliance burdens for businesses and citizens. Senior officials from the Fire Services, Civil Supplies, Environment, Forests, Science and Technology, Law and Industries departments also attended the meeting to discuss progress and implementation priorities.
