Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy, IAS, along with Additional CEO Dr. Vasam Venkateshwar Reddy, IAS, Deputy CEO G.S. Chari and other senior election officials, held a video conference with District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers across the state on August 24. The meeting focused on the conduct of Gram/Ward Sabhas at polling-station level and various issues concerning the electoral rolls.
The CEO directed officials to publicly read out the details of Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) voters and newly included names in draft electoral rolls during the Gram/Ward Sabhas. Officials were also asked to identify applications that were not included in the draft rolls and examine them. Awareness should be created among eligible Indian citizens who turn 18 by October 1, 2026, regarding Form-6 for new registration, Form-7 for deletion and Form-8 for corrections. Sudarshan Reddy further instructed officials to speed up notices and hearings concerning anomalies and no-mapping cases, clearly mentioning the hearing venue, date and time in every notice. BLOs were asked to share relevant lists with political parties, while weekly meetings with political parties were directed to ensure coordination and transparency. The CEO stressed that effective Gram/Ward Sabhas would strengthen public confidence in the electoral process.
