Tarnaka BJP Rift Sparks Political Storm

With the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections approaching, internal differences within the BJP’s Tarnaka division have surfaced publicly. The conflict between newly joined young leader Sriram Venkatesh, who has gained popularity through social service activities, and senior local party leaders has intensified, drawing attention across the party. What began as internal disagreements has now turned into a major political controversy involving police complaints and public disputes.

Sriram Venkatesh, who recently joined the BJP, has earned recognition by actively addressing local civic issues as a colony welfare association president. However, his growing popularity reportedly triggered dissatisfaction among a section of senior leaders. The situation escalated after unidentified persons allegedly vandalized his car, leading to a police complaint. Later, banners put up to welcome BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao and District President Bharat Goud for a free medical camp organized by Venkatesh were removed overnight following a complaint to municipal authorities.

The developments have become a matter of concern for the BJP leadership, especially as Tarnaka is represented by senior state leaders, including BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao and State Vice President Banda Karthika Chandra Reddy. Party workers are now closely watching whether the leadership will intervene to resolve the internal factionalism ahead of the crucial GHMC elections.
