Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar made key remarks regarding government formation in the state, stating that “numbers matter, not the headcount.” He clarified that any party or alliance presenting the support of 118 MLAs would be invited to prove its majority on the Assembly floor. The Governor’s comments have intensified political discussions across Tamil Nadu.
The remarks drew sharp reactions from parties including Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and Indian National Congress. Meanwhile, fresh political speculation emerged over a possible understanding between Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), adding a new dimension to the evolving political situation in the state.
