Ahead of the new academic year, the Tamil Nadu government has directed all private schools to prominently display government-approved tuition fees on their notice boards. The decision follows complaints from parents alleging that some institutions were collecting excess fees and imposing hidden charges beyond the approved structure.
The government has warned that schools found charging fees above the prescribed limits may face strict action, including cancellation of recognition. Officials stated that the move is aimed at improving transparency and preventing unauthorized fee collection across more than 13,000 recognized private schools in the state.
