Suryalanka Beach is set to undergo a massive transformation under a ₹97.52 crore tourism development project aimed at turning it into a major coastal tourism hub in Andhra Pradesh. As part of the initiative, the government has officially launched the “Bay of Bapatla” branding to promote the beach on a larger tourism platform. Authorities are also planning to introduce water sports, adventure tourism activities, cycle tracks, modern beach pathways, and advanced night lighting facilities to attract more visitors.
The project also focuses on achieving Blue Flag certification, an internationally recognized eco-tourism standard for clean and sustainable beaches. The Andhra Pradesh government is encouraging investments in star hotels and luxury resorts to make Suryalanka a multi-day tourism destination instead of just a weekend getaway. Officials believe the development will significantly boost tourism, employment opportunities, and the local economy in the region.
