Supreme Court Directs Delhi Police Not to Arrest Woman Journalist

The Supreme Court has directed the Delhi Police not to arrest a woman journalist in a case linked to an FIR filed by ACP Vivek Bhagat. The order was issued by a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant while hearing the matter. The development provides interim protection against arrest as the case proceeds through the legal process.

During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the court that the journalist would not be arrested if she cooperated with the investigation. Taking this assurance into account, the bench issued directions to the Delhi Police. Further details about the allegations in the FIR and the subsequent course of the investigation have not been provided in the available report.
