The Supreme Court of India has dismissed a petition seeking the removal of content containing objectionable remarks about the Prophet. A Bench led by Justice P. S. Narasimha declined to entertain the plea and advised that litigants should not approach the Supreme Court directly for every issue without first pursuing appropriate legal remedies.
The Bench also urged citizens to have faith in the country's judicial system and law enforcement agencies. Justice P. S. Narasimha observed that the petition, filed under Article 32 of the Constitution, appeared to carry political motives. The court's observations have drawn attention in legal and political circles.
