Sudden Fire on Highway Locals Acted Swiftly

A major accident was narrowly avoided near S.N. Thanda in Atmakur mandal of Nandyal district after a lorry carrying a load of corn suddenly caught fire. The incident occurred while the vehicle was traveling on the Macharla-Kurnool highway. According to reports, the fire broke out due to friction between the lorry’s tyres.

As the flames spread rapidly, the driver and locals were alarmed. However, nearby motorists and residents acted quickly and managed to control the fire before it turned into a major disaster. Traffic on the highway came to a halt for some time, causing inconvenience to travelers. Police later reached the spot and cleared the traffic. No casualties were reported in the incident.
