Inflow into the Srisailam reservoir has completely stopped, while storage continues to decline due to water use for upstream canals, projects and power generation. Against its maximum capacity of 215.80 TMC, the reservoir currently holds 162.05 TMC. Telangana continued power generation at the left-bank station and released 35,315 cusecs downstream. Including releases through the Pothireddypadu, Handri-Neeva and Kalwakurthy systems, the total outflow stood at 48,906 cusecs.
Meanwhile, the Godavari witnessed a sharp rise in floodwaters. The flow at Bhadrachalam reached 5,83,563 cusecs, while Polavaram received 5,10,872 cusecs. At the Dowleswaram barrage, 4,63,583 cusecs were being released into the sea. Floodwaters submerged bridges and causeways in Velerupadu and Kukunoor mandals, cutting off road connectivity to 15 villages.
